Liz McGregor
Student Re-Engagement Specialist at Greater Johnstown Elementary School
Liz was born and raised in Johnstown, PA, and received her bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, with a major in Sociology and a minor in Early Childhood Education. For over a decade, Liz has dedicated her work to ensuring the safety of children in our community as an advocate for abused and neglected children. Liz served as the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Program Director and advocated for more than 5,000 abused/neglected children in Cambria and Somerset counties during her five years as director.
In addition to advocating for children in the community, Liz has also served the community as an emergency mental health crisis counselor and a drug and alcohol counselor. She is very excited to continue working with children in the community and has always believed that every child deserves someone cheering them on. She hopes to be a constant support to students in the district, encouraging them every step of the way.
Liz and her husband, Dustin, enjoy spending time baking and cooking in the kitchen with their daughters, Gemma and Madelyn. “Stressed” is just “desserts” spelled backwards.
